India organization conducts World Food Safety Day training for small businesses

On the event of World food Safety Day 2022, the International Training Center Food Safety & Applied Nutrition (ITCFSAN), situated in Mumbai India, organized a comprehensive training session on Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS) for MSMEs involved in the food sector.

ITCFSAN promotes the need for a comprehensive food safety system in the food ecosystem and is actively involved in conducting activities and trainings that advocate the same. The programme was designed with the intention to make the participants comprehend the fundamental motive of " FSMS '', to make certain the manufacture, storage, distribution, and sale of secure food. This session particularly highlighted the importance of food safety management systems for Micro, Small, and Medium Food Enterprises.

ITC-FSAN is a unique facility in India, built on a global public-private alliance between food regulatory bodies of India Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) and Export Inspection Council (EIC) and Global Food Safety Partnership (GFSP), an initiative of the World Bank. The alliance connects prominent stakeholders coming from academic and research institutions who have been partnered with the purpose to ensure global safety and nutritional quality of food in the supply chain.
