November launch for webinars on methods of analysis and sampling

Codex recommended methods of analysis are particularly important for checking compliance with provisions in Codex standards. Foundation texts developed by the Codex Committee on Methods of Analysis and Sampling (CCMAS), such as The General Standard on Methods of Analysis and SamplingCX234, provide an essential reference for food business operators and analysts.

The upcoming webinar series, taking place online from 23 to 25 November 2020, will include a session with experts from Standard Development Organizations (SDOs), who will hold an open meeting on Monday 23 November. Countries leading the work on drafting updates to a series of Codex provisions will then run sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday (24, 25 November) to review the status of work and encourage participation in these workgroups prior to the next full session of the committee, currently scheduled for May 2021 in Budapest, Hungary.

Chairperson Attila Nagy encouraged all countries to take part: “If, like me, you love laboratory work and the statistical problems behind measurement uncertainty and you would like to know what has been happening in the Committee, then join us in November”, he said.
