Founded in Paris in 1957, as the European Committee for the Study of Salt (ECCS), the organisation subsequently developed into the European Salt Producers' Association (ESPA). At the beginning of 2004, the association moved to Brussels and was renamed EuSalt. ALINORM 09/32/3 Para 162 - The Executive Committee recommended granting observer status to EUSALT
