World Food Safety Day celebrated by airline caterers
LSG Group celebrated World Food Safety Day with special events happening at LSG Sky Chefs facilities around the world. Many of the company’s employees joined in the celebration. Together, they not only created awareness for food safety but also showed their commitment.
As a quality and technology leader in airline catering, food safety is an integral part of the LSG Group’s business. “It is only logical that we shine a spotlight on this highly important topic and celebrate World Food Safety Day,” said Wilken Bormann, Chief Financial Officer of the LSG Group. “However, every day is food safety day in our company, and I am grateful for our people’s contributions in this area.”
A special campaign channel was established on the company’s internal employee platform where people already began uploading content on 3 June. Many of them used the World Food Safety Day promotion materials provided by FAO and WHO.
"World Food Safety Day is a wonderful opportunity for us to celebrate the importance of our daily work, thank all our employees and show our commitment to food safety," explained Rosimeire Miranda, Quality Director North America. "Some of our locations hosted parties with special food and cake, and there were speeches from the management," added Canan Mendes, Head of Global Food Safety and Compliance. Vanessa Walz, Director Food Safety, concludes: “So many of our staff posted pictures and videos in our dedicated campaign channel. We are proud that all of them participated and celebrated World Food Safety Day!"

At the heart of the Codex mandate are the core values of collaboration, inclusiveness, consensus building and transparency. Governmental and non-governmental, public and private organizations alike play a vital role in ensuring Codex texts are of the highest quality and based on sound science.
Codex would have little authority in the field of international standard setting if it did not welcome and acknowledge the valuable contributions made by observers. Expert technical bodies, industry and consumer associations
contribute to the standard-setting process in a spirit of openness, collaboration and transparency.
Intergovernmental organizations (IGOs) and international non-governmental organizations (NGOs) can apply for observer status in Codex in order to attend and put forward their views at every stage of the standard-setting process.
